Car HUD: Speed & Navigation
How to use
- Open Car HUD and allow location access.
- Turn on HUD mode (Settings in the app). The screen is mirrored so it reads correctly as a reflection.
- Lay the phone flat on the dashboard, screen up, under the windshield. The reflection is clearest at night; raise brightness or use Day mode in bright sun.
- Tap the screen to show the buttons: the arrow starts navigation, the gear opens Settings.
FAQ
The speed shows "--". The app only shows a speed it can trust. Wait for a GPS fix outdoors; tunnels and parking garages block GPS.
The map doesn't turn when I'm stopped. When stopped the map follows the phone's compass; while driving it follows your direction of travel. Magnets in phone mounts can confuse the compass.
There is no speed limit sign. Limits come from OpenStreetMap and are missing for some roads. The sign is hidden rather than showing a guess. Always follow the road signs.
Navigation says it can't find a route. Check your internet connection. In countries where Apple Maps has no driving directions, the app uses Google automatically.
What does HUD Pro include? Turn-by-turn directions with voice, speeding alerts, extra layouts and colours, Google Maps, full trip history, Lock Screen & Dynamic Island, and G-force/compass/0–100 readouts.
How do I restore or cancel HUD Pro? Restore: open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases. Cancel a subscription in iPhone Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
How do I delete my data? Swipe left on a trip to delete it. Deleting the app removes all its stored data.
